Day of Admission: Pre-operative
Mr Barrett has been admitted to your ward and requires pre-operative preparation. He is scheduled for theatre later this afternoon and has been fasting since 12mn.

You have been allocated Mr Barrett for this afternoon. The RMO has just inserted a peripheral intravenous cannula (PVC) as Mr Barrett will require intravenous hydration and antibiotics.
The Time is 1000hrs
You are required to:

Complete the preop checklist

Catheterise Mr Barrett

Commence IV hydration as per orders

Administer IV antibiotics as ordered

Administer the premedication

Complete your documentation.
