Simulation Laboratory Activities Day 4
Nursing Handover
Mr Jones remains heamodynamically stable with nil episodes of chest pain over the last 24 hours. He awaiting cardiac bypass surgery scheduled for next week. Dr Harper has visited Mr Jones this morning and has written the following orders in the progress notes:
- Cease oral antiplatelet medications
- Daily ECG
- Commence I.V. Heparin Infusion as per protocol
Current Vital Signs:
- HR: 89 Sinus Rhythm
- BP: 115/67
- TEMP: 37.0 degrees Celsius
- RR: 16
- SpO2: 96% on room air
Simulation Laboratory Activites
As the Registered Nurse assigned to Mr. Jones you will be required to undertake the following activities:
- Full cardiac and nursing assessment
- Commence I.V. Heparin infusion
- Write nursing report at the end of the shift
- Update Multidisciplinary Careplan (MDCP)
