Day 7
Mrs. Brown is progressing well. The pleural effusion has resolved and the pleural catheter and UWSD was removed after 24 hours. Today’s blood results indicate that that the patient’s Hb is 85. The cardiothoracic surgeon reviewed the patient and has ordered the following in the patient’s medical records:
• Remove alternate staples from chest
• Give 1 unit of packed cells
Lab Activities
• Suture and staple removal
• Administer PC as ordered
• Write a nursing report at the end of your shift.
• Review Multidisciplinary Careplan (MDCP)
