2nd Year Nurses
Welcome to Contexts of Nursing 4: NRSG240
This unit builds on the students learning from semesters 1, 2 and 3. It focuses on the impact of lifestyle factors on health and illness. Emphasis is placed upon acute care across the lifespan, and applications of concepts of pathophysiology and pharmacology related to alterations in mobility, circulation and respiration. In addition, utilisation of clinical decision-making skills will enable students to develop nursing care for those who experience alterations in the associated functional health patterns. Students will also have the opportunity to reflect critically on the influence that health promotion has on the person, family and community in a variety of contexts. The nurses’ roles and responsibilities for assisting others to achieve their optimal health status in a variety of contexts will be examined from a holistic perspective.
We hope you enjoy the semester!
