Nursing Simulation Laboratory Week 6: Medication Administration
Mrs. Jones remains on oral antibiotics for her UTI and is having Endone every 6 hours for her pain. She is also complaining of dry eyes and the RMO has ordered lubricating eye drops for her. Mrs. Jones’ observations are being attended q.i.d (four times a day) and at 1000 hrs this morning they were:
- temp 36.7 po
- pulse 82/min
- resps 12/min
- BP 134/78
- BSL 5.2 mmol/L
It is 1200hrs and her medications are due.
Nursing Simulation Laboratory Activities
This week in the nursing laboratories students will:
- Access the MIMS (hardcopy) and identify the correct dosage, actions and side effects of the medications that have been charted for Mrs. Jones
- Administer the medications as ordered
- Write a nursing note documenting care of Mrs. Jones
